Mr. Pandita is a Fellow of Institute of Project Managers (SL) and a Chartered Civil Engineer having
more than 40 years work experience specializing in Construction Project Management and Contract
Administration. He had a brilliant academic record commencing at Ananda College, where he
became the first ever student to obtain 8 distinctions at the O/Level examinations (in 1975). He
subsequently obtained a 1st class honours degree in civil engineering from the University of
Moratuwa and a post graduate degree in construction management from Loughborough University
of Technology, U.K. where he became first in the Merit List among 42 scholars from 19 countries. He
also pursued his passion for classical music by obtaining a honours degree in music from Lucknow
University, India.
Mr. Pandita started his career at the State Engineering Corporation and later at United Tractor &
Equipment Ltd as a civil engineer. He then held the post of Director at Engineering Consultants Ltd,
and Managing Director of Daham Engineering Construction Ltd. Being the founder Chairman of
PROMEC Mr. Pandita was responsible as the Consultant Project Manager for the successful
completion of a number of prestigious projects in Sri Lanka. The projects include Culture Club
Resorts - Kandalama, Le Kandyan (Amaya Hills) – Heerassagala, The Landmark - Colombo,
Millennium City Projects at Athurugiriya, Ja-ela and Kurunegala, Cenatra Passikudha Resort & Spa
(Amaya Beach), Kelsey Residencies, House of Fashions - Borella and The Atrium Mixed-development
Project. Mr. Pandita successfully completed the Infrastructure Facilities for FLCs – UN/ FAO project as
well.
Mr. Pandita has also functioned as a Consultant and Visiting Lecturer to several Universities and
training institutions and has a number of publications to his credit.
