Eng. J.L.P.R. Wijegunasekera

Mr. Wijegunasekera is a Chartered Civil Engineer with more than 40 years of experience in Structural Designs, Project Management, Contract Administration and Construction in Sri Lanka, Middle-East and South East Asia. He started his carrier at the State Engineering corporation (SEC) as a site engineer and thereafter as a Design Engineer and Resident Agent. He joined United Tractor & Equipment Ltd. as a Project Engineer in 1986 and left to Middle-East in 1987 to join Delmon Gulf Construction (Pte) Ltd as a Project Manager. Then again in 1991 he left to South East Asia to join Jurutera Tempatan of Brunei as Resident Engineer where he was the in-charge of construction supervision of International Bank of Brunei and University of Brunei Darussalam. In 1995 he joined Jurutera Damit Beca Sdn Bhd as Senior Civil and Structural Engineer and he was appointed as acting Chief Engineer of civil and structural division in 1998.
Mr. Wijegunasekera returned to the Island in 1999 and since then he has been working as the Executive Director of PROMEC.
Mr. Wijegunasekera has been involved in structural designs, contract administration and supervision of a number of prestigious projects handled by PROMEC. He has provided professional services for Le Kandyan (Amaya Hills), Textured Jersey, Millenium City Housing Projects and Kelsey Residencies.
Mr. Wijegunasekera is an entrepreneur who owns & managers and estate with a variety of plantations.
